Frequently asked questions
Cookie-less web analytics counts visitors and the pages they read without setting visitor cookies. Simplytics temporarily holds a daily visitor hash, and some page paths or event names may identify a person. Your site should tell visitors they are counted and assess whether its use needs consent under applicable law; the opt-out page explains how they can say no.
You simply copy/paste a lightweight script onto your website's HTML. This script then forwards our servers the data we need to give you your analytics.
No problem — we never drop your data at the limit. If it's just a bit over we will increase your limit. If it's a lot more, we can work something out. The one hard stop is five times your plan limit — 250,000 pageviews on the standard plan — past which collection pauses for all sites on the account, events and outbound clicks included, because one runaway site would otherwise spend every other customer's database budget. Talk to us long before that.
Yes. The script tracks history-API navigations automatically — every route change counts as a pageview, with the previous page as the referrer. Hash-based routing (#/page) is the one pattern that isn't auto-tracked.
Yes — every dataset exports to CSV from the dashboard: overview, pages, referrers, UTM campaigns, countries, devices, browsers, operating systems, events, and outbound clicks.
Only pageviews. Custom events, outbound clicks, downloads and session heartbeats are free — they add nothing to the 50,000. They are not unlimited, though — “What if my site gets more than 50k hits a month?” above says what happens to a site far over its limit.
