Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax. Sales tax, if applicable, is added at checkout based on your country. You will see the exact total in your own currency before you pay.
Why it can cost this little
Because it does not cost much to run. Simplytics is one person and a Cloudflare Worker, and at this size the infrastructure bill is genuinely zero — there is no office, no sales team and no investors expecting a return. It is not a launch price that climbs once you are used to it. There is a price-lock pledge in the terms: the price you subscribe at is the price you keep renewing at.
For a sense of the gap, the cheapest paid, hosted, privacy-friendly alternative is Pirsch, at $72 a year for 10,000 pageviews a month. Simplytics is $12 a year for 50,000. Pirsch lets you point it at 50 sites where this account covers 12 websites, so it is not cheaper on every axis — but on the one most people are counting, it is not close.
There are also free options, and for some people they are the right answer: Google Analytics is free forever, Cloudflare Web Analytics is free on every Cloudflare plan, Matomo is free if you are willing to host it yourself, and Simple Analytics has a permanent free plan. If price is the only thing you are optimising, use one of those. What you are paying here for instead is no visitor cookies, a script small enough not to matter, an EU-hosted primary analytics database, and retained daily totals. Your site still needs to assess its notice and consent duties.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free trial?
30 days, and no card is asked for. The clock starts at your first pageview rather than on the day you sign up, so taking a week to paste the snippet costs you nothing.
What happens when the trial ends?
For a further 7 days we keep counting your traffic while the dashboard itself is locked, so subscribing inside that week leaves no hole in your history. After that collection stops too. Your CSV export stays available, and collected daily totals remain while you keep the account and site — subscribe later and they are still there.
What will I actually be charged, in my own currency?
More than the number above, unless you are in a country with no sales tax on this. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax: Dodo Payments is the merchant of record and adds VAT, GST or sales tax by billing country, then converts. You see the exact total in your own currency before you pay, not after.
Can I get a refund?
30 days on any charge, no questions asked — ask from the address you signed up with. Separately, if a renewal charged and your account has sent no pageviews since, it is refunded however long ago it was.
Will the price go up on me?
The rate you sign up at is the rate you keep renewing at, for as long as the subscription stays continuously active; increases apply to new sign-ups only. That is a promise about the price and only the price — it is not a promise that what is included never changes.
What if my sites get more than 50,000 pageviews a month?
The 50,000 pageviews are shared across all sites on the account. Nothing is dropped at the limit. If it is a little over we raise your limit; if it is a lot more, we work something out. The one hard stop is five times your plan limit — 250,000 pageviews on the standard plan — past which collection pauses for all sites on the account, events and outbound clicks included, because one runaway site would otherwise spend every other customer’s database budget. Talk to us long before that.
What counts toward the 50,000?
Only pageviews. Custom events, outbound clicks, downloads and session heartbeats add nothing to it. They are not unlimited — the hard stop above applies to them too — but they are not billed and never eat your quota.
Is there a cheaper plan with fewer features?
No. All three billing shapes are the same product: 50,000 pageviews a month, up to 12 websites, every feature. The only difference is how often you are charged, and paying for a year at a time is cheaper because payment fees are charged per transaction, not per dollar.
